PostHeaderIcon What are good exercises to lose weight?

I’m only like 14 so don’t say pills or something like that. I really just want to lose weight because summer is coming to an end and I’ve been doing like nothing. I gained like 5 pounds or so and just want to get back in shape in time for school. What are some easy exercises I can do to just get stronger and lose those pounds?

Google “tummy watcher” and go to the first website, it has a calorie calculator tool for various exercises. Also you can find out what your ideal body weight is, based on your height, age, and gender.

The website also has five foods to fight hunger and other helpful tips.

I’m really probably not much help because I’m pretty old-fashioned, but if you want really easy, just turn on the radio to your favorite station or turn the television on to your favorite music station on there, and just dance. Whether it’s slow dancing with yourself or a fast-paced pop or rock or whatever (lol) dance, dancing is excersise.

Experts recommend that you accumulate one hour of physical activity every day to stay healthy or improve our health. Obviously this is also good if you are trying to lose weight and keeping it off.

The rule is the more intensive the activity is, the shorter the duration of exercise. As you progress into activity with moderate intensity, you can cut down to 30 minutes a day for four days per week.

There are 3 types of exercise that your body needs to keep healthy – cardiovascular, flexibility and strength. Cardiovascular activities are those ranging from moderate to vigorous exercises.

Here are some of the light, moderate and vigorous activities:

    start jogging….

One thing that works for me is: before I eat, I drink a large glass of water, then if I’m still hungry, I won’t eat as much as I would have.

It’s better to eat 5-6 small meals than 2 or 3 regular meals each day.

    also, fyi:

    1 pound = 3500 calories.

If you burn more calories than you eat, you will lose weight.

ie, if you eat 2000 calories per day and burn 2500, you will lose 1 pound every week.

the average person burns 1000-1500 calories per day, just being alive.

power walking can burn 200-500 calories per hour.
exercise bike can burn 200-600 calories per hour.
swimming can burn 100-800 calories per hour.
jogging/running can burn 300-1200 calories per hour.

Also, try not to eat within 3-4 hours of going to sleep.

    *********VERY IMPORTANT************

when trying to lose weight, very important to drink lots and lots of water ! ! !
You should drink at least 10 glasses per day, like 1 glass every hour !

This helps your body get rid of the fat when you are burning calories.
